“Being a mother enables one to influence the future.”—Jane Sellman

“When you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts. You are connected to your child and to all those who touch your lives. A mother always has to think twice—once for herself and once for her child.” —Sophia Loren
Our goal is to help expectant mothers have a pleasant and rewarding pregnancy and delivery. One way we do that is through education. It’s just our way of making sure you know exactly what to expect every step of the way.
The classes are taught by qualified instructors from a variety of agencies including: Stanly Regional Women’s Center, Stanly County Health Department, For Women’s Health, Stanly County Partnership for Children, Pregnancy Resource Center of Stanly County, The Butterfly House Child Advocacy Center, Stanly County Family YMCA, Albemarle Chiropractor Center, City of Albemarle Fire Department and the Stanly County Sheriff’s Department. These classes include information on nutrition, normal discomforts of pregnancy, stages of labor, immunizations, breastfeeding and much more.

One of the most common questions asked by expectant mothers is, “When will my baby be born?” Many women may also want to know if it is possible to plan the delivery date of their baby.
At Stanly Regional, we follow the recommendations of the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (ACOG), a professional organization for doctors who deliver babies. One recommendation is that the woman be at least 39 weeks along in her pregnancy before labor is induced. For more information, read our brochure here (en español aquí) and discuss it with your healthcare provider.
All of our services are designed to make your labor and delivery safe, comfortable and easy for you and your baby. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact our director at (704) 984-4596.
