Imaging Services

Commitment to offering the latest in diagnostic services has always been a hallmark of Stanly Regional Medical Center. That commitment continues as our medical center constantly grows and expands to meet the needs of our community.

Over the years, Stanly Regional’s imaging services department has earned a reputation for excellence and service in providing advances in diagnostic services for our patients. Those services include:

Board-certified radiologists.
Picture archiving and communication system (PACS).
General radiography.
Nuclear medicine.
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) (GE 1.5 magnet, American College of Radiology (ACR) Accredited].
Ultrasound [ACR accredited in breast ultrasound].
Digital radiographic fluoroscopy.
Mammography [ACR accredited].
Computerized tomography (CT) [ACR accredited].
16-slice scanner and an eight-slice scanner with fluoro guidance for interventional procedures.
Stereotactic breast biopsy system [ACR accredited]
Cystography suite in surgical services.
OEC C-arms for surgical services and intensive care.
Cardiac catheterization suite (filmless – all cases burned to CD and T1 communication with interventional cardiologist).

All of these modalities (except for mammography) are currently viewed electronically on the PACS (filmless) system.

Stanly Regional provides a Vital Images workstation for post-processing CT images. This allows radiologists to perform 3-D renderings of the patient’s anatomy (i.e., carotid arteries, thorax, extremities, etc.). This system also has the software to perform CT colonography, vessel mapping and coronary angiography, services Stanly Regional Medical Center plans to add in the future.

Stanly Regional also uses a web server that allows physicians from anywhere in the world to view a patient's images on the Internet (through a secure website) once the physician has been granted access.
