The Stanly Regional Medical Center Foundation was established in 1990 as a not-for-profit, tax-exempt corporation to serve as provider and custodian of gifts and bequests for Stanly Memorial Hospital, now Stanly Regional Medical Center. And just as the medical professionals at Stanly Regional strive to provide the finest health care available, the Foundation works to help provide the financial resources needed for turning goals into realities.
The Foundation is governed by a volunteer board of directors that represents a variety of professions from throughout Stanly County. These volunteers oversee the fundraising programs, carefully manage the investment of the endowment funds and allocate funds to specific areas of need.
The Foundation has two staff members: Jane Boone, Director of Development; and Beth Plowman, Program Manager. The staff shares with the board joint custody of the organization’s mission and success, and is responsible for the efficient management of the day-to-day details of the Foundation office.
Contributions are not used to subsidize the medical center’s operating costs or pay staff salaries or expenses. Currently, the purpose of these funds is to build an endowment for the financial security of the medical center.
