Stanly Regional West Campus Moving Forward In Locust
Construction of the Stanly Regional West campus in Locust is progressing very well and is about 85 percent complete. The facility will begin serving patients in June. The community will be able to tour the building during an open house that will be held prior to opening day.
Stanly Regional West will include a diagnostic imaging center and medical offices for primary and specialty care.
“We strongly believe that patients, their families and the communities that comprise the growing West Stanly area deserve facilities and services that are state of the art. Stanly Regional West will offer these right here in Locust and Western Stanly County,” said Stanly Regional President Al Taylor.
The West Stanly Imaging Center will include X-ray, ultrasound, computed tomography (CT) and the first digital mammography system in Stanly County. The 8,000-square-foot imaging center will utilize state-of-the-art technology providing completely digital images. These images will be stored on a computer server connected to Stanly Regional's picture archiving computer system (PACS), enabling board-certified, fellowship-trained radiologists to promptly examine the imaging studies.
“One will be hard pressed to find a medical campus like Stanly Regional West in a community this size anywhere in North Carolina,” said Taylor.
The total size of phase one is approximately 21,000 square feet.
The Stanly Regional West Campus is located beside Stanly Community College’s Crutchfield Center on NC 24-27. Stanly Regional owns 21 acres at the site and plans to further develop the property in a medical mall concept over time in a strategic alliance with Carolinas HealthCare System. Representatives from Stanly Regional and CHS have formed a development team and have been meeting to discuss what subsequent phases at Stanly Regional West will include.
